Where to find your saved TikToks

The video is definitely there. You saved it. But TikTok keeps saved videos in more than one place depending on how you saved them, and the names aren't obvious — so "where did it go" is a fair question.

Favorites — the bookmark icon

This is what most people mean by saving. Tapping the bookmark on a video adds it to Favorites.

To find them: open your Profile, then tap the bookmark (Saved) icon in the row above your videos. Your saved videos sit under Posts, newest first.

Collections — folders inside Favorites

Collections live in the same Favorites area, on their own tab. They're folders you create yourself — Recipes, Travel, Home Projects.

To file something: open a saved video, tap Manage, and add it to a collection. You can also create one from the Collections tab directly.

This is the only organisation TikTok gives you, and it only works for videos you consciously file. Nobody goes back and sorts two years of Favorites retroactively.

Liked videos — the heart

The one that catches people out. Hearting a video is not the same as saving it, and liked videos live in a separate tab on your profile.

If something isn't in Favorites, check Liked. A lot of "lost" videos were hearted in passing rather than bookmarked.

Why you still can't find it

There's no search inside Favorites

The big one. TikTok gives you no search bar for your saved videos, and the search bar at the top of the app searches all of public TikTok — not your bookmarks. Past a couple of hundred saves you're scrolling a grid of thumbnails hoping to recognise a frame.

You're in the wrong account

Worth ruling out early if you run more than one.

The video is genuinely gone

This is the one nobody expects. If the creator deletes the video, makes their account private, or gets removed, your saved copy goes with it. Favorites is a list of pointers, not a library — you never had your own copy.

There's no notification when this happens. You just find a grey square where the recipe used to be.

What actually fixes it

Two problems remain no matter how neatly you use Collections: you can't search what you saved, and you don't own it.

Saving to somewhere outside TikTok solves both. With Willa, you hit share on the video and pick Willa — the same two taps — and it lands in a searchable library with its thumbnail, caption and a link back to the original. Type "ramen" months later and you get every ramen video you saved, alongside anything you saved from Instagram, Pinterest or the web.

You can add a note while you save, which is usually the thing that makes a video findable later — the ingredient you wanted, the reason it caught you.
